allegations by drivers of Freightliner trucks
that they suffered injuries due to carbon monoxide
poisoning from the exhaust of their trucks while

| In April 2004, a Florida
jury awarded $4.4 million to the family of
a truck driver who was found dead at a rest
stop in his 2000 Freightliner Century Class.
The jury agreed with counsel for the family
that the death was caused by a defect with
the truck. According to press reports, an autopsy
was performed by a medical examiner who found
a 67 percent saturation of the driver's blood
with carbon monoxide. Freightliner stated it
would appeal the verdict of liability. |
