Grand Rapid Press,"Police Look Into Yamaha Rhino ATV Operation; 10-year-Old Dies in Crash of Vehicle Driven by 12-Year-Old" |
Police will ask Barry County prosecutors to review a four-wheeler crash that killed a 10-year-old Delton girl to see whether the vehicle was being operated within the law.
Sydney Anderson died Wednesday after she fell off a Yamaha Rhino all-terrain vehicle as it rolled over. The vehicle, which is similar to a golf cart, fell on top of her.
Michigan State Police Trooper Bryan Fuller said the review is routine for all fatal accidents.
A 12-year-old cousin of Sydney was driving the vehicle, which has two seats in front and a small hauling bed in back, when he turned while going down a hill and the vehicle rolled. Sydney was not wearing a helmet.
