Yamaha Rhino Rollover Crash and Rhino Lawsuits

Despite repeated injuriesof drivers due to stability problems, the Yamaha Rhino 660 is not sold with full, half door or rail which could keep limbs inside in the event of a rollover accident.
In lawsuits filed by injured Yamaha Rhino drivers and passengers, it has been alleged that the Rhino ATV is defective due to design defects resulting in stability problems.
Complaints charge that the Rhino can rollover during turns at even low speeds due to its narrow, top heavy design and tires which are too small.

The lawsuits charge the Yamaha Rhino 660 should be sold with full, half door or rail which could keep limbs inside in the event of a rollover accident.
Riders have suffered broken or crushed leg, ankle or feet when their Yamaha Rhino rolled over. Sometimes the injuries have been so severe amputation was necessary. In other cases riders have been killed in Rhino rollover crashes.
Yamaha Issues Safety Doors and Passenger Handholds for the Rhino
In response to the risk of injury during side rollover accidents, Yamaha announced the development of doors and additional passenger handholds for the Rhino. The doors are meant to prevent riders from sticking out arms or legs during rollover accidents. Yamaha is offering to install these new safety features free of charge to all 2004-2007 Rhino owners, regardless of whether the vehicle was purchased new or used. Owners are instructed to visit Yamaha dealerships for details.
