Uniroyal Goodrich & Michelin Tire Recall |
| In October 4, 2004 BFGoodrich Tires began recalling 46,000 passenger and
light truck tires after its quality system alerted the company to a condition
initially affecting ride quality, but which could possibly result in steel belt
separation if not addressed. |
| This recall includes certain aftermarket Michelin BFGoodrich, Uniroyal,
Liberator, Medalist, Phantom and Prospector brand tires manufactured between
April 11 and April 24, 2004. |
| The tires will manifest a lack of adhesion between the steel belt cords
and the surrounding rubber matrix that could lead to a tread/belt detachment.
Sudden tread separation can result in a tire blow out and loss of control of
the vehicle, possibly resulting in a fatal vehicle crash. |
| Below is a list of tires manufactured by the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company
and Michelin North America, Inc. that may be included in this recall: |
